BOILER FEED PUMPS (BFP)
CONSTRUCTION :
A boiler feed pump is a specific type of pump used to pump feed water into a steam boiler. These pumps are normally high pressure units that take suction from a condensate return system. On larger boiler feed pumps the axial forces at the pump rotor are balanced by means of a hydraulic balancing device through which the fluid handled flows. The balancing device is often combined with an oil-lubricated thrust bearing. The balancing device may comprise a balance disc with balance disc seat, or a balance drum or double drum with the corresponding throttle bushes. Common shaft seals for boiler feed pumps are mechanical seals, floating ring seals and labyrinth seals.

As a boiler feed water pump in power plants and other industries
